Just one Thumb |
All you need is one thumb to control the Fusion. Locking, unlocking, trunk-lid release and a panic button beneath your your fingertips (well, thumb tip). The Fusion is the first Ford to feature integrated key-fob technology. Plus side is no more bulky key chain.

Not Just Headlamps |
We're not just introducing a car. We're introducing a shape. One part square, one part circle. Multi element projector beams include high beams, low beams and turn signals - all in one fresh squircle shape. What's next, the Diamangle?

Footwear |
Like a linebacker with fashionable footwear, this car's got a broad stance with a stylish bottom touch. Both fashionable and functional, the ride-comfortable and road-gripping wheels with up to 17-inch rims come to a smooth stop with standard ABS and four-wheel drive power disc brakes.

Personal |
Ford has managed to convert the interior of the Fusion into an environment. Personalize the inside of your fusion with one of three cabin environment themes, not just a colour. Try two-tone camel on charcoal black. Customization right down to the oatmeal-coloured stitching. What a great opportunity to change your environment for the better.

The brand new 2006 Ford Fusion offers three power train combinations sure to satisfy your fix for power. There's the standard 160-hp 2.3L Duratec 23 I-4 engine with
standard 5-speed manual - or with the available 5-speed automatic. Or try the 221-hp 3.0L Duratec
30 V6 engine, paired with a 6
-speed automatic. No matter which one you choose, you're in for the ride of your life
Both Fusion engines feature Intake Variable Cam Timing (iVCT) for good performance and efficiency.* Unlike fixed valve timing, which achieves peak efficiency only
at certain rpm, iVCT continually adjusts timing for the most complete combustion at a wider RPM band.
Exterior
First impressions are unforgettable. Eye-catching chrome. Three sleek bars of it. Stylistic quad-beam headlamps. Low beam, high beam and turn signals - all integrated into the same housing. So clean and sophisticated. It's hard to look away.
You'll notice it's aggressive stance. You can thank a high rear deck lid for that. For a truly captivating rear view, the Fusion SEL V6 comes with chrome-tipped dual exhaust pipes to go with the standard chrome-ringed tail lamps.
Interior
Get in, stretch out, treat your senses. There's room for friends. Seating for five can be covered in cloth or available leather trim (on SE and SEL models.) Fusion's attention to detail also extends to the instrument panel - which features carbon-fiber accents on SE models and wood applique or piano black finish on SEL models.
Fusion has the skills for life. The 60/40 split-fold rear seat can be lowered in an instant making it way easier to carry your stuff. Up front, Fusion's two-tiered center storage area can hold your favorite gear right where you need it and there's 2 power points right there, where your cell and other toys can recharge.
Performance
There's nothing like 4-wheel independent suspension for curve confidence and nimble navigation. A double-wishbone suspension in front works with a multi-link independent suspension in the rear to provide stability and reduce under steer. You'll have the added benefit of knowing how well the performance tires are tracking or what kind of surface they're carving up because the suspension is attached to a power rack-and-pinion steering system, .
Fusion's 4-wheel disc brakes feature ventilated front brake rotors. Look hot, stop cold technology. The hot stuff about Fusion is all in the way it looks and drives. When it comes to stopping, we kept it cool. When you need maximum steering control for surprise stops, Fusion has an available 3-channel ABS.
Safety
Fusion is like Kevlar on wheels. The Fusion's armed with the latest safety technology.
Ford engineers beefed up certain areas by stamping them with extra steel sheets. And other areas were designed to collapse, absorb or channel crash energy away from you and your passengers. So you can concentrate on the drive.
When it comes to safety, Fusion's working for you and your friends. The standard Personal Safety System® uses smart sensors to deploy the dual-stage driver and front-passenger airbags in just the right way, at just the right time. The Front Passenger Sensing System (FPSS) knows if there's someone in the passenger seat and his/her basic size. Then it sends a signal to activate or deactivate the airbag.
Wherever you are in relation to your Fusion, you can breathe easy. The optional Safety and Security Package provides 1st and 2nd-row side-curtain airbags, enhancing head protection for your passengers who like to sit by the window. And when you have to park and part ways with your Fusion, the anti-theft perimeter alarm will work to protect your car.
